SOCSO’s REGIONAL RETURN TO WORK DIGIMOS SYMPOSIUM 2021

  • SOCSO's Regional Return To Work DIGIMOS Symposium 2021 which will take place on 6 & 7 September 2021 in Kuala Lumpur is the first time organized by SOCSO in a hybrid concept to be in line with the element of digital atmosphere (DIGIMOS) which has recently been practised by all communities throughout the world in the current pandemic period.
  • RTW DIGIMOS Symposium 2021 focuses on this year's theme which is "Navigating Disability Management Through The New Normal: Return To Work Process Re-Engineering"
  • RTW DIGIMOS Symposium 2021 targets participation from various levels and professional backgrounds from various countries in the Southeast Asia. Therefore, the agenda to be focused on at this symposium is also to draft a strategic resolution agreed by diverse disciplines from Southeast Asia countries in Integrating Disability Management Plans to a new dimension.
  • The participants do not have to worry even in the post -pandemic period, everyone still has the opportunity to participate in this symposium to get the latest information and knowledge without any registration fee and worry-free.

  3. Expanding your knowledge and finding solutions to new problems as well as improving new skills or approaches related to the field of disability management for a better understanding of how to harness the agility and resilience of 2021 for challenges ahead.
  4. This year, SOCSO also organizes a Disability Management Video Competition specifically for all participants from the Southeast Asia region. This symposium platform can double the impact of enthusiasm, passion and intellectual in highlighting creative concepts of disability management to the global community and at the same time developing harmonious social security practices.

Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohammed Azman is the Chief Executive Officer of the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO. The first medical doctor employed by SOCSO, Dato' Sri Dr. Mohammed Azman has instituted various changes and innovations to enhance SOCSO’s commitment in occupational safety and health, disability management, prevention and employee health promotion. He has introduced the Occupational Health Training for General Physicians, Disability Assessments and the first Occupational Disease Guideline in Malaysia. His brainchild, the Return To Work Programme (RTW) is now one of SOCSO’s flagship programmes. Thousands of workers have been rehabilitated and returned to gainful employment under the RTW programme, which receives international accolades and recognised as the global best practice.
Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohammed Azman is directly involved in the establishment of SOCSO’s Rehabilitation Centre in Melaka in 2014. A strong believer in dynamic social security, Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohammed Azman initiated SOCSO’s Commuting Accident Prevention approach through smart partnership with other agencies and NGOs in 2010. He pioneered the SOCSO Health Screening Programme (HSP) in 2013 as an effort to enhance awareness and prevent lifestyle diseases among Malaysian workers. The HSP has enabled hundreds of thousands of workers to undergo proper health screening, where more than half of them did not know about their health status prior to this programme.
Under his leadership, SOCSO receives various international and local recognitions including from ASEAN Social Security Association and International Social Security Association. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohammed Azman, who currently an Adjunct Professor at Universiti Utara Malaysia’s School of Business Management, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Safety and Health (Occupational Safety and Health Management) from Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences. He holds a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia as well as an Executive MBA from Oxford Business College and Certified MBA from the Oxford Centre for Leadership.
